Fear of death, fear of law enforcement, fear of social exile- fear of not reproducing is closely bound up with this last one. The other two involve it as well. Fear of death—before reproducing. Fear of being locked up—before reproducing. What we call fourth-circuit consciousness. All these conditions from which thinking springs are effectively truth-blockers. A step toward posthumanism is relegating these to mere vestigial instincts.
Monks of old Europe had it so easy. Sheltered by both theocentrism and eurocentrism. Today we’re born having to navigate the worldviews of multiple continents, a thousand of our own philosophies, science, and faith. It’s a miracle we’re not all schizophrenics, I mean, we probably are to some degree.
