Whoa, this has the potential to be written into a better alternate-history novel than PKD’s Man in the High Castle

Baruch saved the situation. The independence of Israel was proclaimed on May 14, 1948, England withdrew from Palestine. A fierce war between the Israelis and the Palestinian Arabs has been raging for months. Now all Arab countries have joined the war. In the United States, many viewed Israel as a socialist and pro-Soviet state. And Baruch made Truman a paradoxical proposal: to recognize Israel, arguing that then he would be re-elected president.

It’s not even an “alternate-history”, that’s what happened. Wonder why the US frequently reminds you of that stereotype of the Soviets? ~The Soviets~ Were those really Russian people that were responsible for all those deaths?

I wonder if there’s a cyrillic version of Man in the High Castle that’s based on Solzhenitsyn’s work.
