Is food just going to double as drugs pretty soon here?

They already sell CRISPR’d food in grocery stores in places in Southeast Asia.

“Drugfood” does seem like the future if you ask me. The question is Why not?

I’m seeing signs that the COVID hype has been dying down and these types of scientists are beginning to refocus on non-COVID related CRISPR projects.

What, ate too many psychedelic speedball reuben sandwiches? Not a problem

Theoretically we could tweak fatty foods to not even make us fat anymore, so not a problem on two account. Tweak the food and tweak the human that eats the food.

Look at the wonders of this

I’m just looking at recent news by the way.

What could this possibly mean??

This isn’t only about altering unborn clumps, it’s LIVE, for adults

The ability to edit cells at will in space is something you could imagine being really useful on longer-duration missions

These are the modern-day “miracle workers” in the truest sense of that term. Except it’s not through Divine Grace, it’s through human will.

Look at this, it’s never-ending

Food allergies affect a large portion of the population and can be life-threatening in some cases. With CRISPR technology, it is possible to produce milk, eggs or peanuts that are safe for everyone… In addition, another research group from the Netherlands is using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology to modify the DNA of wheat to remove gluten, making it suitable for people with celiac disease.

Make coffee stronger, how about that, I’ve had a tolerance to it for years.

Make women more rational and less superficial while you’re at it cough cough.

Let’s see how this test-subject’s been doing – it’s been over two years now

Also from December

Here at we know allllllllllllll about why this has been so slow don’t we

It’s impossible to understand the potential future evolution of the human species without being extremely politically incorrect. No problem, it’s been fun.

Huh I found a CRISPR book I never heard of on the Dutchnet, The Mutant Project: Inside the Global Race to Genetically Modify Humans

More recently, scientists discovered a rare mutation in SCN9A—a gene that has been found in people all over the world who do not experience pain. One boy from the Qureshi clan in northern Pakistan became well known locally for his unusual street theater—putting knives through his arms and walking on burning coals, but feeling not even a twinge of discomfort.

Nazi death camps are mentioned in the introduction – no surprise.

Did you ever read that Suarez novel about CRISPR? I usually don’t call any 21st century fiction “sublime” – I’m tempted to with that one. Gib me sequel!

This is not from a sci-fi novel

This is happening in China because they don’t have our historical baggage

This project collected DNA samples from 2,200 subjects who were thought to be super-smart. “I am confident to say that our project is the biggest of all of this kind,”

These same researchers focus on lifespan-extension as well.

There’s also studies on stupid stuff like making people naturally glow neon green.

Eh, my old posts on the subject are better than anything in this book – what else is new.
